Gourds

Gourds have been used for generations in the US and around the world, as functional and decorative objects. I continue this tradition through hand-crafted gourd work. Each piece is scrubbed clean, carefully prepared, painted and engraved. My gourd crafts range from dry spice bottles, ladles, birdhouses, and ornaments. This year, I started my own gourd garden, though those gourds won’t be ready until next year. Until then, I’m grateful to Myrna of Early Bird Farms, a gourd farmer who generously supports the artist community and makes this work possible.
